What should I Budget for My Wedding Flowers?

Good question! Hitched did a survey of 2000 couples, and they found that the average total cost of a UK wedding in 2024 was £20,700 and usually, 5-10% off the overall budget total is to be spent on flowers (so, on average around £1000).

However, you might break your budget down differently. It all depends on your overall wedding budget and what you want to prioritise for your wedding day. You might LOVE flowers and have a dream of a large installation, so your flower budget might be larger. Or you would really love to have that 12 piece brass band, so your flower budget might reduce and contribute more to your entertainment.

I’d say, the best way to get the most out of your flower budget is to have a large statement piece with your personals and smaller table pieces. It makes a lovely balance with the flowers and still makes it feel like your special day.

Here’s a guide below, to give you an idea of how much you can get for your buck. This isn’t an exact as season-to-season and around commercial events (Valentines, Mother’s Day, etc.) flower prices can fluctuate quite dramatically.

Around £500

Depending on your wedding party size, it will cover all your personal flowers - bouquets, buttonholes, corsages, and enough left over for a small alter/registrar table arrangement that can be moved to the top table too.

Around £1500 - £2000

On top of your wedding party flowers and top table arrangement, you’ll be able to enjoy more ceremony decor, like pedestals, broken arches and beautiful mood-creating centrepieces for your wedding breakfast tables.

£2000 and beyond

Now you have all the freedom in the world - well nearly, Mother Nature and the seasons still need to be considered. But with this in mind, if you wish, you can have multiple aisle-lining pedestals, a large bountiful full arch, floral cloud installations, large table decor, a buttonhole for every guest! A truly floral extravaganza!
